Overview

CADM1-CAR-T cells are a type of **chimeric antigen receptor T cell therapy** specifically engineered to recognize and target *Cell Adhesion Molecule 1 (CADM1)*, a protein overexpressed in some lung cancers—particularly lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD)—and associated with poor prognosis. By transducing patient T cells with a receptor that binds CADM1, these modified cells acquire the ability to selectively identify and destroy CADM1-positive tumor cells. Preclinical data indicate robust antitumor efficacy specifically against CADM1-expressing tumor xenografts and effective reduction of metastatic burden, while sparing CADM1-negative tumors. The mechanism relies on adaptive immunity: upon infusion, the patient’s T cells, now bearing anti-CADM1 CAR, expand and attack tumor sites expressing CADM1, driving immediate and sustained tumor eradication.
