Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Closalis is a topical combination medication containing calcipotriol, a synthetic vitamin D3 analog, and betamethasone dipropionate, a potent corticosteroid. Developed by Laboratoires Medgen and Laboratório EDOL Produtos Farmacêuticos, Closalis is approved as a generic version of Daivobet for the topical treatment of scalp psoriasis and mild-to-moderate plaque psoriasis (psoriasis vulgaris) on other areas of the body in adults. Calcipotriol works by normalizing the rate of skin cell proliferation and differentiation, while betamethasone dipropionate acts as an anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive agent to reduce redness, swelling, and itching associated with psoriasis plaques.
