Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Calcisol-CCZ is an oral combination supplement developed by Boffin Biotech, containing calcitriol, calcium carbonate, and zinc. It is primarily indicated for the prevention and treatment of calcium and vitamin D deficiencies, as well as bone-related disorders such as osteoporosis, osteomalacia, rickets, and hypocalcemia. Calcitriol, the active metabolite of vitamin D3, binds to the vitamin D receptor (VDR) to enhance intestinal absorption of calcium and phosphate. Calcium carbonate serves as an elemental calcium source to support bone mineralization and density, while zinc acts as an essential cofactor that stimulates bone-building osteoblasts and inhibits bone-resorbing osteoclasts.
