Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Calbrit CT is a fixed-dose combination oral tablet containing calcitriol (the active form of vitamin D3), calcium carbonate (providing elemental calcium), and zinc sulfate (providing elemental zinc). Developed by Elbrit Life Sciences, it is indicated for the prevention and treatment of calcium and vitamin D deficiencies, as well as supporting bone health in conditions such as osteoporosis, osteomalacia, and renal osteodystrophy. Calcitriol acts as a potent agonist of the vitamin D receptor to enhance intestinal calcium absorption, calcium carbonate directly supplies the essential mineral required for bone mineralization, and zinc serves as an essential cofactor for enzymes involved in bone matrix synthesis and osteoblast differentiation.
