Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Shel D-CT is an oral fixed-dose combination of calcium carbonate and calcitriol (the active hormonal form of vitamin D3). It is formulated to treat and prevent calcium and vitamin D deficiencies, as well as manage bone disorders such as osteoporosis, osteomalacia, rickets, hypocalcemia, and renal osteodystrophy. Calcium carbonate serves as an essential mineral source to maintain bone density and skeletal structure. Calcitriol acts as a potent agonist of the vitamin D receptor (VDR), enhancing active calcium and phosphate absorption in the intestines and regulating bone mineralization. The combination is marketed in India by Uniorange Life Care.
