Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a fixed-dose combination of three agents—calcium citrate, cholecalciferol (vitamin D3), and sodium fluoride—used primarily for the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis and related bone disorders. Calcium citrate provides elemental calcium necessary for bone mineralization. Cholecalciferol enhances intestinal absorption of calcium, supporting bone health. Sodium fluoride stimulates osteoblast activity, promoting new bone formation and increasing spinal bone mass. Clinical studies in elderly women with established osteoporosis have shown that this combination can significantly reduce vertebral fracture risk and increase spinal bone mineral density compared to calcium plus vitamin D alone[1][2][4]. The combination is generally well tolerated.
