Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Doxiproct (and its variant Doxiproct Plus) is a multi-component small molecule therapy developed by Om Pharma for the treatment of hemorrhoids and various anorectal conditions. The formulation typically combines calcium dobesilate, lidocaine, and in the Plus version, dexamethasone. Calcium dobesilate acts as a vasoprotective agent, reducing capillary permeability and improving microcirculation and lymphatic drainage. Lidocaine provides rapid symptomatic relief as a local anesthetic by blocking sodium channels. Dexamethasone, a potent corticosteroid, addresses the inflammatory components of anorectal disease, such as swelling, redness, and itching. Together, these ingredients provide a comprehensive approach to managing pain, inflammation, and vascular dysfunction associated with internal and external hemorrhoids.
