Overview

The formulation combines **calcium sodium phosphosilicate (CSPS)**, a bioactive glass material marketed under the brand name **NovaMin**, with **sodium monofluorophosphate (SMFP)**, a fluoride source. CSPS works by reacting with saliva to release calcium and phosphate ions, which form a resilient hydroxyapatite-like layer that physically occludes exposed dentin tubules, thereby blocking the hydrodynamic triggers of tooth sensitivity. Simultaneously, SMFP provides fluoride ions that promote enamel remineralization and enhance resistance to acid-induced demineralization (anticaries effect). This combination is widely utilized in specialized dentifrice products globally.
