Calcium undecylenate is the calcium salt of undecylenic acid, an 11-carbon mono-unsaturated fatty acid with broad-spectrum antifungal activity. It acts primarily by inhibiting the morphogenesis of *Candida albicans*, preventing its transition from yeast to invasive hyphal form, which is critical for fungal virulence and infection. Calcium undecylenate and other undecylenates are used topically as antifungal agents in the treatment of skin infections such as athlete’s foot (tinea pedis), jock itch (tinea cruris), and other dermatophytic infections. The mechanism involves interference with fungal cell morphogenesis and possibly disruption of cellular pH homeostasis[1][3][4].
