Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CALCOW-Z is a branded generic combination supplement developed by Wellmed Pharma, an Indian pharmaceutical company. Formulated as a tablet, it contains calcitriol (0.25mg), calcium citrate (750mg), magnesium hydroxide (100mg), and zinc sulphate monohydrate (7.5mg). Calcitriol, the active form of vitamin D3, acts as a Vitamin D receptor agonist to enhance intestinal calcium absorption and regulate bone mineralization. Calcium citrate provides a supplemental source of calcium to maintain bone density, while magnesium and zinc support bone structural integrity and various enzymatic processes essential for bone health. This formulation is primarily indicated for the treatment and prevention of bone-related disorders such as osteoporosis and osteomalacia, as well as for addressing nutritional deficiencies in calcium, vitamin D, magnesium, and zinc.
