Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Calfar-Plus is a branded generic oral supplement manufactured by Globus Remedies, an Indian pharmaceutical company. It is a combination product containing **ferrous ascorbate**, **folic acid**, and **zinc sulphate**. Calfar-Plus is primarily indicated as a haematinic for the treatment and prevention of iron-deficiency anemia and associated nutritional deficiencies, particularly during pregnancy, lactation, and post-operative recovery. Ferrous ascorbate provides a highly bioavailable form of iron to support hemoglobin synthesis, while folic acid is essential for erythropoiesis and the prevention of neural tube defects. Zinc is included to support immune function and serve as a cofactor for numerous enzymatic processes.
