Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CalliSarc is a biological extract derived from the excretions and secretions (LES) of medicinal maggots (*Lucilia sericata*). Developed by CalliFarma Therapeutics, it is a product intended for research and potential therapeutic application in wound healing, the management of biofilm-associated infections, and inflammatory skin conditions. The extract contains a complex mixture of bioactive components, including proteases that facilitate enzymatic debridement, antimicrobial peptides that disrupt bacterial biofilms, and various small molecules that modulate the inflammatory response and promote tissue regeneration. While currently positioned as a research-material extract, CalliFarma is exploring its integration into advanced wound dressings and specialized skin-care formulations.
