Overview

CALM2 small interfering RNA is an RNA interference (RNAi) agent designed to silence the expression of the CALM2 gene, which encodes calmodulin 2. Calmodulin is a calcium-binding protein that mediates various cellular processes, including cell cycle progression and signal transduction. Research indicates that CALM2 is upregulated in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and promotes tumor growth and metastasis by activating E2F5-mediated cell cycle pathways. By targeting and degrading CALM2 mRNA, this siRNA inhibits the proliferation and invasive capabilities of HCC cells, suggesting its potential as a therapeutic strategy for liver cancer.
