Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Calmeva (marketed as Cicatridina in other regions) is a hormone-free vaginal ovule formulation developed by Farma-Derma and licensed to Instituto Biológico Argentino (Biol) in Argentina. It is indicated as an adjuvant treatment for the repair and healing of atrophic and dystrophic states of the vaginal mucosa. The formulation combines sodium hyaluronate (hyaluronic acid) with botanical extracts including Centella asiatica, Calendula, Aloe vera, and Melaleuca (tea tree oil). Hyaluronic acid acts as a structural support, providing hydration, tone, and elasticity to accelerate tissue repair and re-epithelialization, while the botanical components offer soothing, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties to relieve vaginal dryness, itching, and irritation.
