Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Calminox AD is a topical anti-dandruff shampoo developed and marketed by Percos. It is formulated as a fixed-dose combination containing the antifungal agent ketoconazole (2% w/v) and Ichthyol Pale (sodium shale oil sulfonate, 0.5%). Ketoconazole acts by inhibiting fungal lanosterol 14-alpha demethylase, thereby disrupting ergosterol synthesis and cell membrane integrity in *Malassezia* yeasts, the primary causative organisms of dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis. Ichthyol Pale provides complementary anti-inflammatory, anti-itch, and antiseborrheic properties, helping to soothe scalp irritation, reduce redness, and regulate sebum production. Calminox AD is indicated for the treatment and prevention of dandruff, seborrheic dermatitis, and associated scalp flaking and pruritus.
