Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Calmmax (also referred to as Calmaxx) is a topical botanical cream developed by Calmmax Pharma for the treatment of uremic pruritus (UP) in patients with advanced chronic kidney disease (CKD) and end-stage renal disease (ESRD). The formulation utilizes active plant extracts to address skin inflammation and the persistent itching associated with renal failure. Clinical evaluation of the cream has been conducted through randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trials at the Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem. As a topical therapeutic, it aims to provide a non-systemic option for managing one of the most distressing symptoms in the dialysis population.
