Calmoflex

Calmoflex is a topical over-the-counter (OTC) analgesic and rubefacient formulation developed by the Argentine pharmaceutical company Laboratorio Gezzi. It is primarily indicated for the symptomatic relief of musculoskeletal pain, including myalgia, arthralgia, and minor sports injuries such as sprains and strains. The formulation utilizes a multi-modal approach to pain management: amyl salicylate acts as a topical non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis; camphor and menthol serve as counter-irritants that modulate thermal receptors (TRPV3 and TRPM8, respectively) to induce local vasodilation and a cooling/warming sensation that distracts from deeper pain; and benzocaine provides localized surface anesthesia by blocking voltage-gated sodium channels. Calmoflex is marketed in Argentina as part of Gezzi's consumer health portfolio.
