**Calorie-Care** is a stimulant-free oral nutraceutical dietary supplement developed and produced by NxCare for obesity and body-weight management. It combines glucomannan, chitosan, fenugreek, gymnema sylvestre, and vitamin C in capsules. Its proposed effects are principally gastrointestinal and metabolic: glucomannan increases bulk and satiety, chitosan may bind dietary fat in the intestinal tract, vitamin C may enhance chitosan-mediated fat binding, and the botanical components may contribute to weight- and fat-loss effects through incompletely defined mechanisms. In a small six-week randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled exploratory study in obese adults, the product was associated with greater reductions in body weight, fat mass, body-fat percentage, and waist-related measurements than placebo.
