Overview

MyeloPro's calreticulin vaccine is a therapeutic cancer vaccine currently in preclinical development for the treatment of myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs), specifically those harboring mutations in the calreticulin (CALR) gene, such as essential thrombocythemia and primary myelofibrosis. Mutations in CALR result in a frameshift that generates a novel, tumor-specific C-terminal peptide sequence (neoantigen) common to all CALR-mutated MPN patients. The vaccine is designed to elicit a targeted T-cell immune response against cells expressing this mutant protein, thereby selectively eliminating the malignant clone while sparing healthy cells. This approach aims to provide a precision medicine solution for the approximately 30% of MPN patients who carry CALR mutations.
