CAM-101

CAM-101 (Elate Ocular) is a fibrinogen-depleted human platelet lysate (FD-hPL) topical ophthalmic solution developed by Cambium Bio for the treatment of moderate to severe dry eye disease (DED), including DED secondary to chronic graft-versus-host disease (GvHD). Derived from pooled human platelet apheresis products, the solution is enriched with regenerative factors such as epidermal growth factor (EGF), platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), and fibroblast growth factor (FGF), while being depleted of fibrinogen to prevent ocular surface irritation. It is designed to mimic the composition of natural tears and autologous serum tears but with standardized quality and higher concentrations of growth factors. The drug is currently advancing into Phase 3 clinical trials (Camomile-2 and Camomile-3) following promising Phase 1/2 results that demonstrated safety, tolerability, and significant improvement in subjective ocular symptoms.
