CAM-FAP-Ga-68 is a diagnostic radiopharmaceutical developed by Precirix for the PET imaging of solid tumors expressing fibroblast activation protein alpha (FAP). It consists of a camelid-derived single-domain antibody (nanobody) that specifically targets FAP, conjugated to the positron-emitting radioisotope Gallium-68. FAP is highly expressed in the cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) of the tumor stroma in various solid tumors, such as pancreatic and gastric cancers, while remaining largely absent in healthy tissues. This high tumor-to-background ratio makes it an effective tracer for visualizing tumor margins and metastatic lesions. The agent is part of a theranostic pair, with CAM-FAP-Ac-225 serving as the therapeutic counterpart. As of 2024, the program is in the IND-enabling phase, with an academic access program established to support investigator-initiated clinical imaging studies.
