Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Cam-Plus is a fixed-dose combination pharmaceutical product developed by CAM Neuro Pharma, containing 500mg of citicoline and 800mg of piracetam. It is primarily indicated for stroke rehabilitation, the treatment of brain trauma, and as a cognitive enhancer (nootropic) for cognitive impairment. Citicoline acts as a neuroprotective agent by serving as an intermediate in the synthesis of phosphatidylcholine, which is essential for the repair and structural integrity of neuronal membranes; it also enhances the production of acetylcholine. Piracetam is a cyclic derivative of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) that functions as a nootropic by protecting the brain against hypoxia and modulating various ion channels on the nerve cell membrane to improve neurotransmission. Together, the components work to nourish nerve cells, protect them from oxidative or ischemic damage, and improve overall neuronal survival and function.
