Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CAM2056 is an investigational long-acting monthly subcutaneous depot formulation of semaglutide being developed by Camurus for the treatment of obesity and overweight. It utilizes Camurus' proprietary FluidCrystal® technology to enable extended-release and sustained delivery of the active ingredient. Semaglutide is a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist that works to reduce body weight by decreasing appetite and energy intake. The drug is designed for monthly administration, potentially improving treatment adherence compared to existing weekly formulations. Clinical results from a Phase 1b trial demonstrated significant weight reduction with safety and tolerability profiles consistent with other semaglutide products.
