CAM2058 is an investigational extended-release subcutaneous injection depot combining **buprenorphine** (a partial opioid agonist for pain relief) and **granisetron** (a 5-HT3 receptor antagonist for antiemetic effects), utilizing Camurus' FluidCrystal technology for low-volume, sustained delivery by healthcare personnel. Developed through a collaboration between Camurus and Braeburn Pharmaceuticals, it targets simultaneous management of postoperative pain, nausea, and vomiting (PONV), potentially reducing reliance on oral opioids and associated risks of diversion, abuse, and misuse. It completed non-clinical evaluation in 2016 and entered Phase 1 clinical testing for pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and safety in healthy volunteers.[1][3][5]
