Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CamAPS FX is a hybrid closed-loop (HCL) automated insulin delivery (AID) system developed by CamDiab. It is an Android-based mobile application that functions as the control algorithm for managing type 1 diabetes. The system integrates with continuous glucose monitors (CGM), such as Dexcom G6/G7 or FreeStyle Libre 2/3, and insulin pumps like the YpsoPump. CamAPS FX utilizes a sophisticated algorithm to automatically adjust basal insulin delivery every 8 to 12 minutes based on real-time glucose sensor data, aiming to maintain blood glucose within a target range. It is indicated for use in adults, children, and during pregnancy. Clinical evidence, including the HI-LOOP study, has shown that the system significantly improves glycemic control (HbA1c and Time in Range) and reduces psychological burdens such as diabetes burnout and distress, particularly in high-risk populations with poorly controlled diabetes.
