Cambritaxestat is an autotaxin inhibitor developed for the treatment of cancer, particularly metastatic pancreatic cancer. It inhibits both the catalytic and chaperone activities of the autotaxin enzyme, which is involved in the production of lysophosphatidic acid (LPA), a bioactive phospholipid implicated in cancer progression. Cambritaxestat is being developed by iOnctura as a first-in-class therapy for highly fibrotic tumors. It is orally dosed and has shown preclinical efficacy in reducing metastasis and tumor outgrowth. The drug is currently in Phase I/II clinical trials for pancreatic cancer.
