Overview

Camoteskimab is a fully human immunoglobulin G1 (IgG1) monoclonal antibody that targets the pro-inflammatory cytokine interleukin-18 (IL-18), acting as an IL-18 inhibitor. By neutralizing IL-18, camoteskimab exhibits potential anti-inflammatory and antineoplastic activities. It is being developed primarily for inflammatory and autoimmune conditions, with its most advanced clinical development in atopic dermatitis (atopic eczema). The drug was originally developed by MedImmune and later licensed to Apollo Therapeutics, which now leads its clinical development. Camoteskimab has also been investigated for adult-onset Still’s disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and multiple myeloma, though some of these programs have been discontinued[1][2][3][4][5][6][7].
