Overview
CampETEC HBC is an orally administered hyperimmune bovine colostrum (HBC) product developed as a therapeutic vaccine and immunostimulant for the prevention of infectious diarrhea caused by *Campylobacter jejuni* and enterotoxigenic *Escherichia coli* (ETEC). The product contains polyclonal antibodies derived from cows immunized against these pathogens. Its mechanism of action is based on passive immunization—delivering pathogen-specific antibodies to the gut to neutralize bacteria and their toxins before they can cause disease. The primary indication is for the prevention of traveler's diarrhea and other gastrointestinal infections due to *Campylobacter* and ETEC. It is being developed by Immuron in collaboration with the Naval Medical Research Center[3][6][10]. Clinical trials are ongoing, including controlled human infection models assessing efficacy against moderate-severe diarrhea following challenge with *C. jejuni*[10].
