Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A topical combination drug containing **diclofenac sodium**, **camphor**, and **menthol**, predominantly formulated as a gel or solution for localized relief of musculoskeletal pain, osteoarthritis, and related inflammatory conditions. Diclofenac sodium is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that inhibits cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), thus reducing prostaglandin synthesis and exerting anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic effects. Camphor and menthol are counterirritants; camphor provides a cooling sensation and mild local anesthetic action, while menthol activates cold-sensitive TRPM8 receptors, leading to a cooling effect and mild analgesia. This combination is used topically to reduce pain, swelling, and stiffness in conditions like osteoarthritis, muscle sprains, and tendonitis.
