Overview

This investigational combination therapy consists of camrelizumab (SHR-1210) and epirubicin. Camrelizumab is a humanized monoclonal antibody that targets the programmed death-1 (PD-1) receptor, acting as a checkpoint inhibitor to block the interaction between PD-1 and its ligands (PD-L1 and PD-L2), thereby enhancing the body's anti-tumor immune response. Epirubicin is an anthracycline chemotherapy agent that works by intercalating into DNA and inhibiting topoisomerase II, which interferes with DNA replication and RNA synthesis in rapidly dividing cancer cells. This combination is being evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials, specifically by Henan Cancer Hospital, as a second-line treatment for patients with extensive-stage small cell lung cancer (ES-SCLC) who have failed prior first-line therapies.
