CAN202 is a gene therapy program utilizing an adeno-associated virus (AAV) sL65 capsid, developed for the treatment of Pompe disease (also known as Glycogen storage disease type II). Pompe disease is an autosomal recessive metabolic disorder characterized by damage to muscle and nerve cells throughout the body, caused by accumulation of glycogen in the lysosome due to deficiency of the lysosomal acid alpha-glucosidase enzyme. The therapy aims to address this enzyme deficiency at a genetic level. CAN202 is currently in preclinical development and has been licensed globally from LogicBio Therapeutics. CAN202 is being developed and manufactured by CANbridge Pharmaceuticals.
