Canakinumab + spartalizumab is an investigational combination therapy consisting of two monoclonal antibodies developed by Novartis. Canakinumab is a high-affinity human monoclonal antibody targeting interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β), neutralizing its inflammatory activity and thereby reducing inflammation. Spartalizumab is a humanized monoclonal antibody that targets the programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) receptor, acting as an immune checkpoint inhibitor to enhance T-cell mediated antitumor responses.
