Cancerlysin is a first-in-class bispecific apoptosis trigger (BAT) developed by ImmuVia. It utilizes a proprietary mechanism designed to efficiently cluster death receptors on the surface of cancer cells, thereby significantly enhancing the induction of apoptosis (programmed cell death). Unlike traditional therapies, BATs are engineered to target tumor cells specifically, minimizing damage to healthy tissues. The lead candidate, Cancerlysin IMV-M, has demonstrated broad anti-tumor efficacy in mouse xenograft models and a favorable safety profile in non-human primates. As of late 2024, the program remains in preclinical development.
