Canex T

Canex T is an over-the-counter (OTC) topical antifungal cream developed and marketed by Shanur Healthcare, a pharmaceutical company based in South Africa. The active ingredient is clotrimazole, a broad-spectrum imidazole antifungal agent. Clotrimazole works by inhibiting the fungal enzyme lanosterol 14-alpha-demethylase, which is essential for the synthesis of ergosterol, a key component of fungal cell membranes. This inhibition leads to increased membrane permeability and the eventual death of the fungal organism. Canex T is indicated for the treatment of various dermatomycoses, including ringworm (tinea corporis), athlete's foot (tinea pedis), jock itch (tinea cruris), pityriasis versicolor, erythrasma, and fungal nail infections such as paronychia. The cream is formulated to be odorless, non-staining, and easily washable, and it is typically applied topically two to three times daily.
