Overview

CANN001 is an investigational topical hydrogel wound dressing containing 0.3% 2-deoxy-D-ribose (2dDR), a small ribose-derived sugar. Developed by Cannenta in collaboration with the University of Western Australia, CANN001 is designed to promote wound healing by stimulating angiogenesis (the formation of new blood vessels) and upregulating the local expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). It is being evaluated in a Phase 1 clinical trial for the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs).
