Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Levotens is a topical patch formulation combining two non-psychoactive phytocannabinoids, cannabidiol (CBD) and beta-caryophyllene (BCP). It is designed to exert analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and muscle relaxant effects through the activation of cannabinoid receptors, specifically CB1 and CB2. The drug is primarily being investigated by the Humanitas Clinical and Research Center for the treatment of neck pain and has shown efficacy in patients with temporomandibular disorders (TMD). In clinical trials, it is being evaluated as a combination therapy alongside paravertebral oxygen-ozone injections to enhance pain control.
