Cannabidiol + vigabatrin is a **combination therapy** comprising cannabidiol (CBD), a non-psychoactive cannabinoid derived from cannabis, and vigabatrin, a small-molecule antiepileptic agent. This combination is studied as an adjunctive regimen for **infantile spasms**, in which CBD is given alongside vigabatrin as first-line therapy. CBD acts via multiple mechanisms, including modulation of endocannabinoid and non-endocannabinoid receptors, exerting anti-seizure, neuroprotective, and anti-inflammatory effects. Vigabatrin irreversibly inhibits GABA transaminase (GABA-T), increasing GABA levels in the brain and reducing neuronal excitability. The combination is being investigated primarily for more effective initial control of infantile spasms, a severe pediatric epilepsy.[1][5][9]
