Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PreveCeutical Medical is developing a proprietary cannabinoid sol-gel nasal delivery system designed for direct nose-to-brain therapeutic delivery. The platform utilizes a sol-gel formulation that remains liquid at room temperature but transitions into a gel upon contact with the nasal mucosal tissue. This technology aims to bypass the blood-brain barrier and first-pass metabolism, providing sustained release of cannabinoids (such as CBD) for up to seven days. The program targets a wide range of indications, including chronic pain, inflammation, seizures, and various neurological disorders like anxiety and depression. In 2020, the program was expanded to explore potential applications for COVID-19. The technology was developed in collaboration with the University of Queensland and UniQuest.
