Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Cannabinoid topical cream is an investigational transdermal formulation developed by the Medicinal Cannabis Resource Centre Inc (MCRCI) for the treatment of pain associated with rheumatoid arthritis, particularly in the finger joints. The cream is designed to deliver cannabinoids through the skin to interact with the endocannabinoid system, specifically targeting CB1 and CB2 receptors located in the skin and joint tissues to provide localized analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects. It has been evaluated in a randomized, placebo-controlled Phase 2 clinical trial (NCT04101409) where patients applied the cream three times daily to affected joints.
