Overview

**Cannabinoids + terpenes** refers to the synergistic combination of cannabinoids (such as THC and CBD) and terpenes (aromatic compounds like beta-caryophyllene, limonene, linalool, beta-pinene, alpha-humulene, and geraniol) found in cannabis, known as the entourage effect, where terpenes modulate and enhance cannabinoid activity for improved therapeutic outcomes. Terpenes contribute aroma, flavor, and independent medicinal properties including anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antimicrobial, antidepressant, anxiolytic, anticancer, and neuroprotective effects, while binding to cannabinoid receptors like CB1 and CB2, mimicking or potentiating cannabinoids without significant psychoactivity or addiction risk. This combination shows promise in preclinical studies for pain relief (including neuropathic and chemotherapy-induced), inflammation, epilepsy, anxiety, depression, and infections, often outperforming isolates.[1][2][3][4][6]
