Overview

Cannabis cream is an investigational topical formulation containing a full-spectrum cannabis extract with a balanced 1:1:1 ratio of cannabidiol (CBD), tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), and cannabigerol (CBG) at a concentration of 20 mg/ml. Developed by the Federal University of Latin American Integration (UNILA) in collaboration with the Santa Cannabis association, this topical therapy is being evaluated in the CBDermis clinical trial for the treatment of mild to moderate psoriasis vulgaris. The cream aims to alleviate localized skin symptoms such as inflammation, pruritus, and scaling by targeting the endocannabinoid system in the skin, while also being studied in combination with an oral cannabis oil to address both physical and psychosocial aspects of the disease.
