Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Panaxia Pharmaceuticals is developing a pharmaceutical-grade cannabis formulation specifically for the treatment of chronic migraine. Currently in the IND-enabling stage, the formulation is designed to modulate the endocannabinoid system by targeting the Cannabinoid receptor 1 (CB1) and Cannabinoid receptor 2 (CB2). These receptors play a significant role in pain processing and neuroinflammation, both of which are central to the pathophysiology of migraines. By utilizing standardized phytocannabinoid ratios, Panaxia aims to provide a consistent therapeutic effect for patients suffering from frequent and severe migraine attacks.
