Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Cannabisol CBD is a plant-derived cannabidiol (CBD) product developed and marketed by PHCANN International as part of its medicinal cannabis portfolio. Unlike traditional pharmaceutical candidates in a clinical pipeline, Cannabisol CBD is a commercialized product available in various concentrations, including Cannabisol CBD 10, 20, and 30. As a phytocannabinoid, its mechanism of action involves complex interactions with the endocannabinoid system, notably acting as a negative allosteric modulator of the Cannabinoid receptor 1 (CB1) and an antagonist of the Cannabinoid receptor 2 (CB2). It also modulates non-cannabinoid targets such as the 5-HT1A serotonin receptor and TRPV1 ion channels. The product is typically administered as an oral solution for the management of conditions where medicinal cannabis is indicated, such as chronic pain, inflammation, and neurological disorders.
