Overview

Cannflavin A is a naturally occurring **prenylated flavone small molecule** derived from *Cannabis sativa* that is being developed as a **non-psychoactive anti-inflammatory and analgesic candidate**. It has been associated with development efforts by **Anahit International** following licensing of University of Guelph intellectual property covering biosynthetic production outside the cannabis plant. Preclinical data indicate that cannflavin A suppresses inflammatory mediator production through inhibition of **microsomal prostaglandin E2 synthase-1**, **5-lipoxygenase**, and modulation of **toll-like receptor 4 signaling**, supporting exploration in **acute pain**, **chronic pain**, and **inflammatory disorders** as a potential non-opioid alternative. Additional preclinical literature has also examined antiproliferative and anticancer effects in models including **bladder carcinoma**, **chemotherapy-resistant breast cancer**, and **colorectal cancer**, but no approved product or established brand name has been identified.
