Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CanniMed 22.1 is a medical cannabis product developed by CanniMed (now a subsidiary of Aurora Cannabis). It consists of a hybrid blend of pre-milled dried cannabis flower standardized for dose consistency. The product is characterized by a high THC to CBD ratio, containing approximately 22% tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and 1% cannabidiol (CBD). As a cannabinoid-based therapy, it exerts its effects by interacting with the endocannabinoid system, specifically acting as an agonist at the Cannabinoid receptor 1 (CB1) and Cannabinoid receptor 2 (CB2). It is primarily indicated for the management of chronic pain, inflammation, and chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting. CanniMed was Canada's first licensed medical cannabis producer, and this product is currently marketed through the Aurora Medical division.
