Overview
CanniMed Topical Cream is a medical cannabis product developed by CanniMed Therapeutics in partnership with Avaria Health & Beauty Corp. It is designed as a kit that allows patients to mix CanniMed medical cannabis oil with a Kalaya Carrier Base Gel to create a topical application. The cream is available in two formulations: one with a balanced 1:1 ratio of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD), and another that is CBD-dominant. The active cannabinoids primarily target CB2 receptors in the endocannabinoid system to provide localized, fast-acting relief for pain and inflammation. It is indicated for patients suffering from conditions such as multiple sclerosis, neuropathic pain, joint and muscle pain, and inflammatory skin disorders. The product was launched in the Canadian medical cannabis market in 2018.
