Overview

Canntab XR is a proprietary line of solid oral extended-release cannabinoid tablets developed by Canntab Therapeutics. Designed to address the dosing inaccuracies, variable bioavailability, and short duration of action associated with traditional medical cannabis delivery methods (such as smoking, vaping, or edibles), Canntab XR tablets utilize a sustained-release core surrounded by a protective coating. This formulation delivers a standardized, consistent dose of active phytocannabinoids—specifically cannabidiol (CBD), tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), or a combination of both (such as a 5:1 CBD:THC ratio)—over a 12- to 18-hour period. By providing a steady therapeutic level of cannabinoids in the bloodstream, Canntab XR aims to minimize side effects and improve patient compliance in the management of chronic conditions requiring prolonged treatment, such as chronic pain, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), fibromyalgia, and sleep disorders.
