Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Canova Drops is an over-the-counter homeopathic immunomodulator formulation originally developed in Argentina by Dr. Francisco Canova in the 1960s. It is designed to support and enhance the body's natural immune defenses, particularly in patients with compromised immune systems due to conditions such as HIV/AIDS, cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, and chronic infections. The formulation is composed of highly diluted homeopathic ingredients, traditionally including Aconitum napellus, Thuja occidentalis, Bryonia alba, Arsenicum album, and Lachesis muta, among others. It is believed to act primarily by activating macrophages, stimulating the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and nitric oxide (NO), and modulating cytokine levels (such as TNF-alpha) to enhance host defense mechanisms without inducing toxicity.
