CanSino Biologics is developing an adsorbed diphtheria, tetanus, and acellular pertussis (DTcP) combined vaccine for the prevention of these three bacterial infections. Unlike traditional acellular pertussis vaccines that use co-purification, CanSino's formulation is component-based, meaning each pertussis antigen is individually purified and then combined in precise proportions. This method is designed to ensure batch-to-batch consistency and enhanced product stability. The vaccine is being developed in two primary forms: an infant DTcP vaccine and a Tdcp vaccine (with reduced antigen content) for adolescents and adults aged six years and older. The vaccine works by eliciting protective antibody responses against the toxins produced by *Corynebacterium diphtheriae* and *Clostridium tetani*, as well as against specific antigens of *Bordetella pertussis*.
