Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CAP-1628987 is a preclinical small molecule inhibitor of the SCAP/SREBP pathway, developed by Capulus Therapeutics in collaboration with Immunocure Discovery Solutions. Identified using an AI-guided drug discovery platform to model SCAP/SREBP complex interactions, the compound binds to SREBP cleavage-activating protein (SCAP) to prevent the activation and nuclear translocation of sterol regulatory element-binding proteins (SREBPs). This action blocks de novo lipogenesis, targeting cancer cell metabolism. In preclinical studies, CAP-1628987 demonstrated robust single-agent tumor growth inhibition in breast and liver cancer models, as well as synergistic efficacy when combined with standard-of-care agents like sorafenib.
